Carrier's Choice News and Testimonials

Carrier's Choice Client Testimonials:

February 2012
" Through CTA's Health and Welfare Trust , we've saved thousands of dollars while maintaining the same level of quality coverage for our employees.

Some of the program highlights for us were:
-It's a good product for the small group employer because it does not use a Risk Adjustment Factor (RAF) that can cause premiums to spike.
- They do not use composite rates , so there's no age banding. That means no more premium hikes because you're getting up there in age!
- The premiums are simplified and uniform. Just 3 rate regions. So no matter their zip code, the premium is the same for all your like participants in the same plan.

After doing a lot of shopping, I can recommend CTA's medical plan over many others I've seen. It's a huge benefit for our fellow CTA members, and I would encourage them to enroll."

Excerpt from the Mountain Valley Employee June Newsletter:
“The only way to be successful is for companies to have the freedom to make decisions outside the box. On May 1st of this year we rolled out our new Medical Insurance plans. We are all now blessed with two providers of this coverage, Kaiser and Health Net, coming to us from the CTA, (California Trucking Association) Erisa Trust Plan. I am a Trustee of this plan and sit on the Board that helps to make decisions on these medical plans. These plans offer you a more affordable medical option than we had to offer before, with reduced deductible amounts. We now have 34 companies, insuring over 1000 lives, now enrolled into the Trust. As more and more companies see the value of this plan, they too will join our group and all will share in the reduced costs going forward.

"My company was very excited when the California Trucking Association offered their exclusive medical program.  We were looking for a way to control costs. What we found was substantial savings and we were able to change from a HMO to a PPO with much better benefits and choices for our employees.  I highly recommend everyone to give RSI an opportunity to help with your health benefits.”

 Announcing Carrier’s Choice

A Medical Cost Savings Business Plan for CTA members

Costa Mesa, CA – August 2, 2010 --RSI Insurance Brokers is proud to announce today that we were unanimously chosen by the California Trucking Association (CTA) to market a health and welfare program under the name of Carrier’s Choice

For some time now, CTA has been researching the possibility of providing its members with a low cost medical service plan. According to Mike Campbell, CTA Executive Vice President & CEO, these services have been added to a long list of benefits services realized on a daily basis by its members.

On June 22, RSI Insurance Brokers was one of two firms selected by CTA’s Medical Plan Ad Hoc Committee to provide a medical cost savings plan for its members.

RSI will be offering a CTA-sponsored plan that will provide CTA members with medical cost savings due to the purchasing power of the group as a whole. The CTA plan will be established through an ERISA Health and Welfare Trust. The initial goal is to have at least 1,000 employees covered by the plan, thereby offering the lowest premiums possible. A statewide network of local providers will be utilized to provide fully insured HMO and PPO plans offering health, dental, vision and life insurance.

CTA President, Denny Wyatt, is pleased to report that the two health insurance programs selected will be assisting members in controlling their health insurance costs in this very volatile market. Denny says, “This association is proud of all its Allied Members and I strongly recommend that everyone direct their purchasing dollars to CTA Allied Members only. Support those who support our industry.”

For CTA members, Carrier’s Choice will mean leveraged purchasing power to control their health costs.
