RSI’s Gas Saving Tip of the day: Turbo conjures lots of - power. Turbojets, turboprop, turbocharger…all fast, strong, with kick to boot. Turbo doesn’t always come to mind when we think of gas saving technology however. Turbocompounding though - is an efficiency-boosting technology that converts waste heat into mechanical power. Large trucks have used turbocompounding to increase power output by as much as 5 percent. Even better - it can save an equal amount of fuel.
